  PRIZES PROVIDED BY:

Hafa Adai! My name is Kristin Uson and I wish to nominate my mom, Maria Uson, for this appropriate and grateful event you have presented to the island. I have never been the one to freely do this spontaneous deed, but I feel that My Mom is worth the drive. She is one of two children in her family and freely, without a doubt, has taken the role of being a mom to her sister's daughter. Along with my cousin and myself, my mom is a mother to my two younger siblings. She is deserving of this honor because of her natural determination of wanting to keep her family healthy. I would explain to you all the cliches of a perfect mom, but who wouldn't.

My mom is an inspiration and a perfect example of what a woman contains; independence, kindness, and patience. No woman or mother, including my mom, should not be subject to just these three virtues of life, but I must say that she has highlighted those three most especially. Her look on life is simple and wants nothing else to see her children grow up to be nothing else, but themselves. She always reminds my younger siblings and myself that if we want to go out and help out the world we have to work at a base, which is us. Before we go out and spread love into the world we first have to love ourselves. My mom is my personal hero because our relationship has inspired me to be an aspiring mother as well. I won't be having any children soon, but when the day comes I will, no doubtingly look first, to my mom for some motherly wisdom. The relationship between a mother and child, whether it is good or bad, is priceless in a sense that no one can replace the naturalness of true love.

I think I can speak for my cousin, siblings, and myself that we our proud to have a mom who is said to
be one of "the best moms in the world."

Thank You Very Much,
Kristin Uson(daughter)
Dominic and Aubrie Uson(son/baby)

Hi i'm writing to u to let u know that my mom is the best mom ever??

My Mom's name is ANA N. CHARGUALAF lives in Talofofo Village She grew up with 13 siblings to whom her parents are Mr. & Mrs. Juan F. and Concepcion C. Naputi My mom was like the black sheep of the family cause she has 7 brothers and 6 sisters and she is the 5 oldest of them all.. well, to start out my mother was always told what to do clean, wash clothes, watch her other younger siblings , etc. tell mom what to do and she'll do it.. well, my mom was supposed to have 10 children but out of the 10 only 2 lived.. me im Debbie and my brother he's name is John paul.

my mother was only 15 yrs old when she give birth to me, in 1962, then her parents took over he duty as a mother but she had to go and find a job to support me i remembered back then when i didnt know she was my mother i always called her on her first name but then here comes my brother John paul was born at 1972 i was 10 yrs old then, but my grandparents which her (my mothers) parent took him again then here i was raised by my grandparents there's 3 other's that they raised which they we're my cousins..

saw there's 5 in all but we all got close, and then my grandfather passed away on jan. '82 and then my grandmother passed away on jan. 92 and then my step father passed away dec. '91. so my mother when ahead and took us 5 and she watched us all. and to be honest with u all my mother doesn't know much about taking care of children then so she bared doing it we 5 all got close to her. but she was always managing to have money which she always give us money including when my grandparents r still alive,,,,

and then i found some one to be with me in my life and my brother got married now he has 8 children.. me i have 1 step child, and u know even if my mother and i always have our ups and downs we always get back.. my mother was the type of mother that she knows best and she knows best well one day she wanted too visit her grandchildren but she doesn't really know much about children so she told me that shes scare of children and the noise children makes is very unbareable get what i mean ...

But i do know one thing she always loves us even if she's the type to try and bare with us all.. and now whenever my brother and i when we don't call her for awhile she goes or come lookin or callling us asking if we still remember we have a mother.. so we laugh at her lol..and she says she cries all the time when she doesnt hear from us lol..

but one thing about my mother she does do what she says shes going too do like if me and my brother wants something and she can't get it.. she will get it later on.. my mother got sick and she is daibetic now but we do love her my brother had a hard time loving her cause of what happened our grandparents took care of us...

but as of now i know my brother loves our mother and our mother doesn't know or understand why my brother can't get over the hirddles. but thats all i want is to win this contest so my brother and my mother can get back and for the to reach out cause we are getting older my mother is 61 yrs. old and my brother he's 36yrs old so pls help me in winning this contest for them ok.. thank u for reading this story and u know what.

THATS WHY I SAID THAT MY MOTHER IS THE BEST MOTHER IN THE WORLD.!!!!

Hi My name is Nicole Ann Quinata Veloria. I am writing to tell you why I think my mother should be chosen as the queen for the day.

My mother's name is Annie Chargualaf Quinata, the reason why I think my mother deserves to be a queen for the day, aside from being the queen every other day is because as a mother she does so much for my lilttle family. My mother takes on a whole lot in her every day life. She may not have a 9-5 job, but she has a job from sun up to sun down and that's being the world's greatest mother. My mother struggles everyday taking care of my disabled sister, that she never even has the time to sit down and think of her own wants and needs. She is such a provider in so many ways. My mother is has played both roles as mother and father for so many years. So many times I see it in her eyes that she wants to relax, but can never seem to do so. She always gives in to what other people want and need, but never stop to think of herself. Since the passing recently of my Nanna she struggles to hide her feelings and make it seem that there is nothing wrong, but deep down inside I know that she just wants to get away for a while. This woman, not only mothers me and my three other siblings, but also my friends. If they could they would tell you how she treats them as if they are her own.

To me I feel like she deserves this so much. My mother most of the time stays up till the early mornings and wash clothes. If she is not doing so, then she's stays up late to make sure that my brother gets picked up from work at 5am, then comes home and gets my sister ready for school. Barely getting enough sleep she cooks, then cleans our yard. My mother is what the older people call Agaguat. NAUGHTY. She can never keep still. She is almost like and energizer battery.

I could remember a while back, my sister had the special olympics at JFK. As sick as my mother was she went. During the event that my sister was doing her walking race, my mother plunges to the ground suffering from heat stroke. Up to this day she still goes to those things knowing it can cause her to faint. Now I am proud to say that my mother did a darn good job, for my sister will be walking down the isle with the graduating class of 2008 ISLANDERS.....

Just recently my mother had a boyfriend, whom she had put her life on hold for. This guy had been suffering from nose bleeds. My mother as caring as she is, didn't stop until she found out what was wrong with him. Just last year he was diagnosed with Cancer. So aside from having to take care of my sister, she was also taking care of a man that couldn't help himslef. So after I had seen my mother suffering and just giving up on herself, I made her go for a check up and found out she had so many things wrong with her. But even after finding all these things out, she still doesn't stop to take care of herself. She is still so busy taking care of others.

That's why this mother day, I would like the whole Island of Guam to know that even if my mother doesn't get chosen as the queen of the day. She is still the QUEEN in all her childrens' hearts.

Thank you,
Nicole Ann Veloria (Daughter) James Rosario (Son in Law)

We would like to nominate Josefina S. Babauta better known as "Joy" as the mom who deserves a "Motherlode of Prizes".

"Your Momma Wears Combat Boots" is an understatement when you talk about our momma! Born Josefina Santos Limtiaco, at a tender age she married dad and became Josefina S. Babauta ... "Joy". Mom is a retired Sergeant First Class of the United States Army, she is as gentle as a calm breeze and as strong as the most typhoon proofed foundation. She can do anything she sets her mind to and molds her 3 children to do the same. Mom plays many roles daily - she is my dad's best friend, she is our sounding board for my sister and me, she is the warden for our brother, the generous nana to her grandson, she is an assertive employee, a dependable sister, a fun auntie, she is proficient in everything she touches - and the woman can "Cupid Shuffle" like nobody's business!

Mom deserves the "Motherlode of Prizes" ... she is appreciated by her children and grandson and we may not always say it in words ... perhaps this gesture will speak for itself! We love you Mommy/Nana! You Go Girl!
